Our first We Stand Beside event is coming to the Highlands next month

We’re thrilled to share details of the first We Stand Beside event, taking place in Scotland this March, in partnership with The Barn and our co-founder, the artist Jane Frere.

At the centre of the programme is The Ark: We Stand Beside, an exhibition that brings together the beauty of nature of Scotland and beyond with a deep sense of shared responsibility, inviting visitors to pause, reflect, and choose a species to “stand beside” as an act of solidarity.

The exhibition runs Thursday 26 March to Sunday 19 April 2026, open Wednesday–Sunday, 10am–4pm. At its heart is a floating ark created in collaboration with designer Tom Addy, containing a sound sculpture carrying the voices of children and traditional Highland storytellers speaking the names of threatened species in Gaelic and English.

Alongside the exhibition, there’s a rich programme of films, workshops, and live music, including nature connection workshops with Dan Puplett, a keynote and panel with Alan Watson Featherstone, and a closing-night performance from the ethereal folk band, Salt House.
