We are not separate from nature. Standing beside the Web of Life, which includes every single one of us, reminds us that environmental conversations must be inclusive everything from human communities to the earthworms in the soil. It’s a way of making space for connection, shared responsibility, and stewardship.

I wrote and performed a poem dedicated to the web of life at the 2024 Nature-based Solutions Conference. More broadly, I write eco-poetry rooted in the landscapes, biodiversity, and climate realities of my homeland, The Bahamas. Through my work, I try to give voice to the entanglement of people and place in the face of environmental change.
