Future – Interactive/ Immersive Matching

The I Stand Beside platform will be an interactive space designed to help connect individuals with the natural world in a meaningful, actionable way. 

At its core, the platform will help members to find and select a species to ‘stand beside’ as an advocate or champion. 

This personal commitment will be supported by a wealth of tools and resources to nurture connection, learning, and action.

Through the platform users will be able to explore a dynamic database of species in two complementary ways:

1. Via an interactive graphic representation(s) of the phylogenetic ‘Tree of Life’, based on the open source 2.3M species:
Tree of Life from Duke University USA.  

2. Intelligent search tools will help users find a species / natural entity of particular relevance such as by location, IUCN status, habitat, phylum (or any taxon/clade), or more poetic search terms such as “I love… [small furry things]”
