This month we’re honoured to welcome two new early adopters whose creative practices remind us of the beauty, fragility, and deep mystery of the more-than-human world.

🎨 Carolyn KM — Standing Beside the Polar Bear

Carolyn’s vibrant, dreamlike paintings offer more than a visual feast; they are acts of reverence. As an artist and long-time nature-lover, she has chosen to stand beside the polar bear, a species whose vulnerability at the frontline of climate change has come to symbolise the fragility of the entire Arctic ecosystem.

Carolyn’s work explores the emotional landscapes of our relationship with nature: wonder, grief, memory, awe. Her polar bear pieces are not only tributes, but quiet calls to attention, asking us what it means to love something so distant, and yet so deeply known.

You can see more of her work on Facebook or visit her polar bear page here →.

🐾 Gabriele Moleta — Standing Beside Animalia

Gabriele is a movement artist, theatre-maker, and long-time explorer of animal embodiment. His practice asks: what happens when we truly let other creatures move through us, when we loosen the boundary between human and animal, not just in theory, but in muscle, breath, and instinct?

She has chosen to stand beside Animalia, in other words, not a single species, but the wild animal presence within and beyond us all. Her work moves between inner terrain and physical expression, informed by years of training in performance, and somatic awareness.

To stand beside Animalia, in Gabriele’s words, is to honour “the embodied sacred mystery of all non-human life.” You can learn more here.
